The A16 concept was actually based on Citizen's successful B-series machine and was developed to upgrade current automatic CAM type users to CNC Swiss-type users. The A16 offers many standard NC functions too numerous to mention and is by far the best value Swiss-type lathe in its class on the market.

The main spindle motor housing is built-in, no belt. This technology offers higher spindle rotation accuracy, resulting in better machining of parts. The max speed of the main spindle is 10,000 rpm and the standard independent sub-spindle has a max 6,000 rpm.

Also standard on the A16 are three cross live tools and four front AND four back drills, offering a higher standard machine with a variety of machining capabilities.
